Pre-Order /Pre-Save Four Tops Live Here Purchase Tickets The Roostertail July 27th THE FOUR TOPS Announce Deluxe Edition Reissue of FOUR TOPS LIVE! on JULY 24th Group To Return To The Roostertail In Detroit On July 27th For Special VIP Show May 27, 2026 – Originally released in November of 1966, Four Tops Live! not only captured the legendary Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers at the peak of their powers, but it also scored them their second #1 album on the Billboard R&B Album chart. In the United Kingdom, the record had even more sustaining popularity, reaching #4 on the charts, staying in the top 10 for three months, and spending 72 total weeks on the charts. Now on July 24th, the album receives a long overdue upgrade and reissue on both vinyl and DSP’s with a double LP set. This 60th anniversary Deluxe Edition arrives with new mixes, previously unreleased material, and is spread out over four sides for the vinyl release to allow for high-quality sound. Sixty years later, the legacy comes full circle as the current incarnation of the Four Tops returns to the Roostertail for a commemorative VIP concert on Monday, July 27th. Tickets go on sale this Friday for this unique VIP show, which features a meet and greet for all attending fans, photo opportunities, dinner, a pop-up museum of rare Four Tops artifacts, and, of course, a performance by the group. Buy Tickets Now! Originally presented in late summer and early fall of 1966, Motown Mondays was a new and exciting live event series from the ascendant Motown Records. The company had staged Christmas shows at the local Fox Theater and instituted grinding but important Motortown Revue tours; TV appearances were few but growing. Motown Mondays at the Roostertail, Detroit’s premier nightclub, was the next step in legacy building: presenting big acts in front of a boisterous, loving, hometown crowd, motivated by the energy of a popular radio personality. Kicking off with the Four Tops, its seven-week run became a showcase of the company’s small-label, big-success camaraderie, where artists and executives could celebrate each other as well as be seen and heard up close by fans in attendance. In revisiting the original tapes, Harry Weinger at Universal Motown and Drew Schultz (former Four Tops drummer) made a surprising discovery: a wealth of previously unissued material. This led to the decision to expand the album into a comprehensive 2LP Deluxe Edition, presenting—for the first time—all of the songs performed during the engagement. Many appear in previously unheard alternate versions, and all have been remixed and remastered for this release from the original tapes. The set also includes a bonus track: a fiery instrumental by the Funk Brothers. Richly documented and sonically expanded, Four Tops Live! – Deluxe Edition stands as an essential release for fans and a vibrant testament to one of Motown’s and the Four Tops' most electrifying live moments. Bios The Four Tops Formed in Detroit in 1953 as the Four Aims, the group soon changed its name to the Four Tops to avoid confusion with the Ames Brothers.
